The beginning of every year, we create resolutions for ourselves, whether it is to live a healthier lifestyle, to travel often or to adopt more cats and dogs. This year, one of my new year resolution is to start journaling. Instead of mindlessly scrolling through my phone or binge watching the most recommended series on Netflix, I want to take more time out of my day for just my thoughts and I. My goal is to write once a day, or at the very least, twice a week. I planned on writing about my best days, my worst days and my random thoughts. I love the idea of being able to look back on the memories you wrote in your own words and reflect on them, even if it is just at the end of the week or ten years from now.
I thought it would be best for me to start writing before the year 2016 began, just to get in the habit. Oddly enough, I began to work at Brothers Leather Supply Co. just when they started to sell hardback journals; talk about the right place, at the right time. I know, I know, "you can get a journal anywhere," But, honestly, I really do enjoy my navy, ruled Brothers Leather hardback notebook. I mean, super affordable, two hundred and forty blank pages, it's durable and it fits perfectly in my everyday bag. Now, about four months later, this journal has become apart of my daily essentials. And pretty soon, I might get my hands on one of our new blank soft back journals to begin sketching again. The year has only begun, it's never too late to start a new hobby or an old one.
